culture influence stories, and how we choose to
shape them.

Palestinians have one of the greatest understandings of human consciousness. They exhibit it through their integrity, hospitality, responsibility to their family, and art. Existing under the rubble is the reality that many Palestinians have faced due to Israel’s occupation and
genocide. Yet, Palestinians are resilient. Their stories are kept alive, and their culture
continues to live on, emerging forever through generations. Society and systems have turned their backs on Palestine; some have settled in their own hypocrisy and lack integrity, but culture presents the clearest proof of identity and existence. Instilled in the individuals,
Palestinian roots remain, and we as a society have the opportunity to see that under the
rubble, there is life. Life that needs to be protected, preserved, and understood.
What is Tartreez?
Tartreez is a traditional and delicate Palestinian embroidery. It's a form of expression, as
you can weave patterns and shapes even into clothes. In this article, you will see people
learning how to embroider The Moon of Bethlehem, Qamar Beit Lahem, which has
biblical interpretations and symbols of hope. Tartreez can be passed down from
generation to generation, making the preservation of this art powerful, filled with love,
history, creativity, and expert craftsmanship with every stitch. Nahiba DC is a space of rich history and authenticity, and through an impactful level of intentionality in its mission and in the people, Nahiba is a space where everyone can learn and have the opportunity unlearn.
